Penneys nail varnish review

Hi dolls.

I just began buying nail varnish again. God knows why I never really bought it. You can be so creative with it.

The one I bought is limited collection from Penneys. There are three nail varnishes in a box. The colours i chose are lilac she'll, pink ice and pink shine.

The pink shine and lilac shell are great colours for a base colour for the day time and then if you want to make your outfit sparkle for night time, you can add the pink ice. That is the colour in the picture below in the middle.

It also drys quickly, within one minute or less and you can add it to any outfit. Especially black, white and pink. The sparkles brighten any outfit up.

I love it and it only cost €4 for the whole set, so go and get it before it sells out girlies.

These are the reasons why I love it but let me know what you think.

Until next time...

Penneys Haul

Hi there dolls,

I know it's been a while, but I am a college girl after all. Have to hit those books.

Anyway, the weather here has been A-MAZ-ING... which prompted me to go shopping for my holiday clothes (in between writing thesis, essays and studying for exams :-( ).

I went on a big haul in Penneys (and some other high street shops), and this is what I bought.

Penney buys
High waisted shorts, €11

I bought these high waisted denim shorts because they look great with anything. A t-shirt, a tank top or a flowy top for evening time wear. It it perfect for holidays because sandals look great with them.

Short shorts, €10

I LOVE these shorts because they're so vibrant and soooo BLUE!!! I love a pop of colour. Especially in the sunshine and with a bikini which is the only time I would wear these because they are very short shorts.
Playsuit, €11
This colour is a tad dark, but when you match it with white sandals, a bright bag and sunnies, it will brighten up the playsuit. Or if you wanted it for evening wear, just add some gold jewelry and you'll have a great evening outfit.

denim playsuit, €11

I bought this denim playsuit the other day and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It cost €11 and it's so light. It is definitely more of a day outfit combined with sunnies, a bag and sandals. Definitely one of my best buys.

Playsuit, €11

This is another day time wear. It's patterned and I Love patterned things. Especially  because you don't have to put anything with it. It's perfect by itself. This one is also very very comfy. Perfect material for hot weather.

maxi dress, €15

This printed maxi dress was one of my best buys. I got it for €15 and I usually like to wear it in the evening time because it's kind of hard to move around in when you're walking long lengths on holidays. Add some jewelry to it, gold or silver would work and add sandals to the mix. You have got yourself a comfy, light and stylish evening attire.

maxi dress, €15

This is my favourite maxi dress and again only for evening attire because of the material. The material is a bit heavier than the maxi dress above, but still light. Evening suits it perfectly because you will not swelter in it. You could add wooden or gold bangles and head wear to this and you have yourself an elegant evening dinner outfit.

tank tops, €1.90 each

I am constantly buying these because they are so handy to have on under a jumper or a flowy top. They also go with everything; jeans, skirts, shorts. You name it. They cost me €1.90 each and they have various colours. Well worth a buy.

Slogan t-shirt, €4

When I saw this, I just had to buy it. I am a Paris fanatic (as well as New York and London), so I knew it when I saw it that it had to be bought. Slogan t-shirts are always a good buy, especially if they're flirty like this one.

dotted top, €4

I love this top because it's flowy, so if you over indulge, no one can see your belly. I wear it on nights out over hear during the summer and usually tuck it into my jeans, skirt, etc and add a leather jacket to it. This would go well with the high waisted shorts above. It is a multi-functional top which can be worn as day time or evening time wear.

Pj's

My NIGHTTIME WEAR. How cute are these. I bought the pajamas on the right hand side from Penneys at a bargain of €7 for the shorts and the tank top. How cute are they?!

I bought the pajamas on the left in forever 21 in New York. They are super cute and again my Parisian fashion fanatism is coming through. They were a bit more expensive at €10, but are super comfy.

Bikini, €8

I was searching fora really nice bikini because I'm going on holidays to Greece this summer. So I wanted something that looked good in the sun. I loved the pattern on this and the twist at the front. The top can be worn as a boob tub or it has a halterneck top if that would make you feel better. I prefer the boob tub because it gives you less tan lines.

Sailor bikini, €8

I loved the look of this because I think it looks classy and kind of sailor like. It has gold baubles between the "boob holders", the strings to tie around the back and on the bottoms on the sides. Love the stripes too. The small gold baubles and the stripes definitely remind me of a sailor. Don't as me why haha.

Vibrant bikini, €7

I love this little number too. It has a cool pattern. The colours go really well together and it's such vibrant colours tha make it feel holiday like. One of my favourite next to the sailor bikini.

Espana bikini, €8

Now I'm not going to bring this bikini on holidays to Greece with me, but how cool is this bikini??!! Espana is the part that goes on your behind. How kinky? hehe. It is really handy though because both the top and the bottom have string so you can tighten or loosen them. A really good buy.

Globe bikini, €8
When I saw this bikini, I thought it was the qwerkiest bikini I had seen in penneys. It has the globe on it!! How cool is that??!! Definitely bringing this on holiday and it suits every country you go to.

That was my Penneys haul. I hope you liked it. I bought a LOT of bikini's but it just means I have one for each day haha.

I hope you like it and will be inspired to go on a Penneys haul.

Until next time...

Au revoir

Killer Fashion GNO blog party

Hello darlings.

So sorry it's been a while, but I do have a thesis to be keeping on top of.

Anyhoo, I was invited to Killer Fashions events hosted by the beautiful blogger herself, Nirina Plunkett. Check it out. Her blog is fab. Link: http://killerfashion.tk/

It was a fab night had by all involved and I got to meet some really cool people, what they do and what their blogs are about.

We got a goody bag with Make-up goddies, an iphone cover and vouchers for cosmetic places such as Benefit. The product in the gift bag that made me lol was the toothpaste. I was cracking up, but it's actually one of the teeth whitening toothpastes so it holds a purpose. It still mad me laugh.

Anyway, this is what I wore:

Tank top - Penneys - €1.90
I got this tank top in Penneys for €1.90. €1.90!!!!!!!! No where else in Dublin City will you get a Tank top for this price. NO WHERE!! I dare you to try my blogger friends. You can get them in various colours. I thought it was very summer like since it was so warm yesterday (until it got to around 10pm when it became like the Antarctic).

Jeans - Penneys - €7
I coordinated the turquoise tank top with these light coloured denim jeans. Again since it felt like summer, I felt the outfit needed a pop of colour. I bought these in Penneys for €7. Best buy this week. And they actually fit too.

To complete the outfit, I wore my coral coloured blazer blazer which can be seen in my previous post "Afternoon Tea outfit darlings". Link: http://acecouture.blogspot.ie/2015/01/afternoon-tea-outfit-darlings.html

The shoes I wore with these are the pointed black ones that I wore for my 21st birthday. The details on them can be found on my "21st Attire" post. Link: http://acecouture.blogspot.ie/2015/01/my-21st-attire.html

Jewelry always completes an outfit. So I wore a gorgeous necklace that I got as part of my 21st present from my girlfriends. I don;t know how much it costs but I know they bought it in Penneys as I've seen it when I'm browsing in there. It's fab and summer like.

Summer necklace - Penneys

Then I wore a birth stone Alex and Ani bracelet that my friends also got me and a dragon fly Alex and Ani bracelet that my auntie's best friend bought for me. They both have beautiful meanings and are made from recyclable products which I think is awsome. Even tough they were presents, I know they cost arounf €30 each which is good this brand.
Garnet Alex and Ani braclet - €30

Dragonfly - Alex and Ani bracelt - €30

I hope you liked it.

Leave some comments if you feel like it.

Thank you/gracias/merci/danke...

My 21st attire

So I went out on Saturday the 24th of January to celebrate my 21st birthday.

All of my friends came up to the house and gave me gorgeous presents. I was not expecting the amount of things I received. Amazing friends I have.

I can't thank them enough or make a list of all the presents I got because it would be WAYYY too long.

Anyway! I wore a nude coloured dress with black lace at the hips on the side of the dress and it had a black ribbon like band around where a woman's ribs ends to show off your curves.

Can you guess how much it cost??

21st dress, Boohoo, €20.

It was €20!!! TWENTY EURO!!! (it looks nicer on. Trust me!). Now it was in the sale for this price. Reduced from €50. Definitely worth it though. So always have a look at sale items before you look at the other clothes. Something might just catch your eye.  It was from Boohoo.com (Link available here: http://www.boohoo.com/)

As one of the girls said, it looks as though it's from Lipsy London,

I got the shoes in Penneys for €18. A lot of people said to me that they looked like they were from Topshop or another more expensive shop than Penneys.

I love them because they are not too high as I am quite tall and tower over guys so I like to wear heels that are not skyscrapers all of the time, but not kitten heels either. (You should just wear dolly shoes if you are going to be wearing kitten heals because they're basically the same thing in my opinion :P).

These are the fab (non kitten heels) from Penneys.

Sleek black heels, Penneys, €18.

I added some silver and black bangles to the outfit and a bit of tan.

This is my final look! And it only cost me €38 for the dress and shoes. How amazing is that?!

I felt like a star in this dress. I'm in love with it.

I added a sparkly beaded clutch bag to this outfit and a black leather jacket. It doesn't need them, but it was very cold outside because we do live in Ireland after all and I needed something slightly warm.

Thanks for reading and shop at Boohoo.com in the sale when you can. It's fab!

Merci/Gracias/Danke...

Until next time...

Airport Chic.

Hi dolls!

Since I am heading to the big apple tomorrow I decided to show you my airport style.

When going to the airport and going on such a long flight as I am, you need to be comfortable, but have to look stylish at the same time.

You see celebrities coming out of the airport in dresses, etc, but they are either on short flights, have private planes where they can get changed in before they come through the airport.

We can't do that, unless we win the lottery or come into big money out of the blue.

So, this is what I am planning to wear on the plane tomorrow.

Baseball T-shirt from Penneys, €10.
I bought this is Penneys for €10. I know, you're thinking ten euro for this. Honestly, I wear it when I can, which is basically all of the time.

I love some of the American type T-shirts. Especially when it makes you look gangsta. Haha. (You should see me when I'm drunk. Most of my friends say I get so gangster when I get inebriated.)

Anyway, it is comfy and great in warm weather because it doesn't stick to you.

With this I will be wearing leggings because they keep you warmish when you are so many feet in the air and when you get off the plane they do not make you too warm or too cold.

Leggings, Forever 21, €3.
Okay! I know they look odd on the hanger, but as the majority of people on planet earth must know, they define your figure quite well and can be mega comfy, depending on where you buy them.

They can also last you a good few month to a year. Again depending on where you buy them.

I bought these in Forever 21. I know! Stepping out of my comfort zone of Penneys.

They cost me €3 on sale. I think they are €6 when they are not on sale. The material they are made out of is good for leggings as it it thick, but not too thick for summer wear. Just enough that your underwear is not showing.

I would highly recommend buying them.

With this outfit, I plan to wear dolly shoes which can be seen in my other blog 'Spring has arrived'. They are jet black with a thin bow on the front of them. Take a look. You might love them.

I painted my nails yesterday because I hadn't in a good while. Here is how they turned out.

Nail varnish from Dunnes Stores.

I got this nail varnish as a present from my brother a year ago. It's from Dunnes Stores. How do I know this since I got it as a present, because I saw it in the shop when I was looking for other people's gifts.
It actually works really well considering it is not a well known brand. Again, I think it might just be me, but I have to use two coats to get the look I like. Still a great product.

To complete the whole outfit, this is the bag I will be bringing onto the plane with me. I again got this as a gift, but any big bag that is your style will make an outfit. Make sure the colours match though. You can't go out mismatching. You would look silly then.

Gift from a friend.
You can't forget your sunnies. Take a look back at my other blogs 'Flaunt what you've got' and 'Sunny college day look' to see what sunglasses I have discussed.

This is my completed outfit.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

I will not be posting next Friday as I will be away. So I will see you all in  two weeks.

Flaunt what you've got.

This week I went out for cocktails with my girlfriends. It was great fun.

The sun was shining and it was mega hot outside. (Weird for Ireland, but I'm not complaining.)

This is what I decided to wear, but you could easily wear it for lunch too.

Top from H&M. €7.
I took a step back from Penneys and bought this in H&M. This is from their 'basics' collection. I just loved the style of it. The elongation at the back and the shortness at the front, but not too short so if you don't have a toned stomach like I do, you don't feel too self conscious. The white and stripes with is all in this summer. Especially with block colour shorts or jeans. It cost €7 and I war it so much. Definitely worth a buy.

You can wear jeans, shorts or even a skirt with this top, but in a block colour. Otherwise the outfit would look strange, in my opinion. See the jeans I wore with it in my blog post 'Sunny college day look'.

The shoes I wore with it are mentioned in my other blog post 'Spring has arrived'. If you were wearing jeans, you may get away with wearing high heels. However, flatter shoes would look better because it makes your outfit more summer like.

For shoes, see my blog posts 'Summer outfit', for high heels that may go with it if worn with a blazer which is also mentioned in that blog post, 'Spring has arrived' for the dolly shoes and 'Playful playsuits' for sandals which would make the outfit so much more summery.

To make this look a bit more quirky, I added rings, a bag and sunglasses to my outfit.

I got the butterfly ring as a present for my 19th birthday off a close friend. Therefor, I don't know how much it was, but it is one of the best gifts I have received. If you have an old ring a home or even go and buy some in any high street shop; wear them!!! It brightens up any outfit. Whether Winter, Summer, Spring or Autumn.

The ring on my index finger I bought on holidays. I thought the colours of both rings matched and it completed my outfit so much.

Sorry about the chipped nail varnish by the way. (Very unprofessional!)
The black nail varnish id Rimmel's one minute dry nail varnish. It definitely does what it says on the bottle, but I like really strong colours so I had to give it a second coating. That's just my preference though. Still an amazing product and they have various different colours. This product is €5.29 in most Boots pharmacies nationwide. Link to product here: http://www.boots.ie/en/Rimmel/Rimmel-nail-polish/

However, if you are looking for vibrant, luminous colours, I would go with Barry M which is the white colour I am wearing. This product takes a tad longer to dry, but it worth it as it lasts a good while. This product is €5.99 in most Boots pharmacies nationwide. Definitely worth the price though.

These are the other rings I wore to complete the outfit. You got to wear rings on both hands. It makes your outfit different to others. I got both of these as presents as well so unfortunately cannot tell you the price of them. The nail varnish is the same as mentioned above.

Bag, €11, Penneys.

I bought this bag during the Winter months in Penneys for €11, but it is still in store. It is so handy as it is big enough to hold all girls essentials. I bring it with me (almost) everywhere. I say almost in brackets because it matches most casual yet stylish clothing, but would not match a dress you wear to a nightclub or somewhere like that. Definitely worth a buy for €11.

Sunglasses, €3, Penneys.

How cool are these sunglasses? They cost... wait for it... €3!! They are UV protected and for that you cannot go wrong with €3 sunglasses Especially sine they are so cool. Almost from something like the eighties except more stylish. They complete and outfit for me. Maybe that's just because I adore them so much. Who knows?! Go on! Guess where I bought these?

This is the completed look:

The finished look.
That's it for today.

If you have any comments or questions, let me know.

Until next time...

Playful Playsuits

This week I will be talking about playsuits.

Since it is the summer time (well in other countries besides Ireland anyway), it is the perfect time to get that old playsuit out of your wardrobe and put it to good use.

Or even better, buy one. There are plenty to choose from out there if you look hard enough.

I love playsuits because you can wear them to a casual gathering, the beach or out for dinner. All you have to do is add a blazer to the playsuit and you're a sexy, stylish woman.

Can you guess where I bought mine? That's right! PENNEYS!

I probably seem like an ambassador for Penneys, but I am a poor student in need of a job. Therefore I shop in Penneys most of the time. Not only that, but they have so many stylish pieces for such good prices.

This is the playsuit I bought for €11 in Penneys.

It is so comfortable to walk around in all day. Even in hot balmy weather because it does not cling to your body.

Playsuit: €11, Penneys
The shoes I would wear with this would be sandals because I am usually in a country with warm sunny weather. These are the sandals I bought. Also from Penneys. €13.

Sandals; €13, Penneys
These are also very comfortable to walk in, however, they can catch on certain types of surface areas, so if you are walking long distances I would wear shoes that are practicable but stylish at the same time, as that is the aim of the game. Right?

As mentioned above, playsuits are not just for casual wear. They can be dressed up too.

Pop a blazer and some high heels on to make it a going out to dinner outfit.

Check out what blazers I have in my previous blogs, 'Summer Outfit' and 'Dressy-casual night look'.
A nice white or cream blazer would spruce this outfit up and make it colourful and summery. Like Kourtney Kardashian's outfit seen in the pictures of the celebrities below.

If you are going out to a restaurant on holidays, or if it happens to be spectacular in Ireland, these shoes would be perfect for a playsuit with a blazer outfit. They are €24.99 and so worth it as they are easy to walk in and go with almost anything. Link it below. These shoes would also be perfect with a crop top and a pencil skirt. However, that is another topic and perhaps a blog discussion.

Shoes from New Look website.

Wedge shoes could also work but, in my opinion, would make the outfit more casual, yet stylish at the same time.

That is my view on playsuits.

Let me know what you think.

Until next time mes amis.

Au revoir!

Summer Outfit!

I'm sorry, I;m sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

I know I haven't posted in about a decade.

I have exams. *sadface*

That's what I've been up to, and still am ...

Moving on from the boredom of my life, let's talk fashion.

Summer has... sort of arrived. I'm sure it has in other countries, but Ireland is all four seasons combined into one day.

We were on a roll for about three or four days in a row where it felt like summer. Then, along came the rain.

Anyhoo, I was out about two weeks ago for a birthday and was heading out to The Workmans, but ended up in Coppers. It's great craic on a Friday night, just incase all you dolls are wondering. ;-)

Because I didn't know where we were going to end up, I wore a dressy-casual look. I think the top is quite summer like. Let me know what you think.

Pink dotted top

I got this pink dotted top from Penneys for €4. They also have it in navy. It's brilliant! It goes with almost everything. A skirt, jeans, baggy trousers, anything you can think of.  The material is not flimsy either like Penneys clothes can be. Here I am wearing it with jeans and high heels. I also wore a blazer and jewelry. Look at my previous blogs on what jewelry I wore. It brightens up any outfit because of the colour. One of the best tops I own.

Black sophisticated blazer
This is the black blazer I wore that night and bought in Penneys for €5. That's right! €5! It was on sale two weeks ago, and Penneys just happened to have it in black and in my size. It was a sign that I should buy it. I think it looks very sophisticated. A blazer makes any outfit that bit more sophisticated. And black goes with everything.

New Look High Heels
I was given these by my friend. She said they were too big for her but I think she just didn't like them haha. They are so comfy to wear on a night out because they are wedges. They go with almost everything as well. I try to wear them as much as I can. I don't know how much they were, but they are from New Look which always do amazing shoes.

This if my final look:

My final outfit
I hope you like it!

Au revoir mes amis.

Until next time...

Spring has arrived!

Hi dolls!

Firstly, I'm sorry for not posting in about two weeks. It's been a hectic week!

Secondly, excuse the lack of make-up in these photos. (I hope I don't look too scary.)

Anyway... my look this week is an outfit that you could wear if you're meeting up with friends for coffee during the day.

However, you could also wear it if you're going to your local pub or somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere.

So let's get started.

Picture 1
Picture 1: I got this in Penneys last week on sale from €31 to €15. When I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. It was calling my name. Really, it was! The picture doesn't even do the colour or style justice. They also had it in blue, but I thought the white looked more classy and better for Spring and summer time. It will probaly get filthy, but it is totally worth the money.

Picture 2

Picture 2: I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS TOP!! I bought it in New Look for €14 or €15. It looks much better on than it does on the hanger. I like the fact that you could wear this on a summers day but also dress it up with leather jeans or a skirt and heels and wear it on a night out to the local. It could even be worn with sandles and tucked into shorts or a flowy skirt on holidays and still look stylist.

I wore this with jeans from Penneys that I have talked about in my previous 'Sunny college day look'. J'adore them too! Take a look and see if you like them as much as I do.

Picture 3

Picture 3: This is one of my most prized possessions because it belonged to my nana. #Vintage. I do love my high street clothes, but when you own something like this, which is so pretty, you have to mix and match. It is made from real wool and is so cosy. I wore it all the time during winter (and still now, because Ireland only has one climate), because it brightened up my outfits and went with almost everything.

If I was wearing this outfit during the day I would pair it with my M&S sunglasses and either the cream bag that I mention in my previous blog 'Sunny college day look', or a black clutch.

Picture 4

These are the shoes I wore. They were €11 in Penneys, but when I went up to the till, they scanned in at €3. Absolute bargain! I would say they look like they are from a more expensive high street shop than Penneys. I love when miracles like that happen. You can't go wrong with €3 shoes that were supposed to be €11. They go with everything too because of their colour.

Finalemente, el aspecto final...

I hope you like it!

Till next time mes amis...

Au revoir!

xo
